Ruby General Hospital is a 250 bed hospital in Kolkata. Established by Doctor Kamal K Dutta in 1995, this hospital is known for its very well experienced and accomplished team of medical practitioners, technicians, nurses and other administrative staff. Ruby General Hospital has around 175 renowned Sr. Consultants of different specialties and around 50 In-house Doctors who are always available. There are around 42 multi-specialty departments under which the treatment is available, like Neurology, Orthopaedics, Cardiology, Oncology, Dermatology, Haematology, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Neonatal Care and Paediatrics, ENT, General Medicine, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Radiology, Dentistry and others.

Problems and Requirement

Being a large hospital with multiple specialties the hospital had procured software from different vendors to cater to the different specialties. The requirement therefore was for an integrated solution that would take care of the end-to-end management of the hospital.

Solution

GHealth was the most ideal solution for them as it not only took care of all the specialties but also was able to cater to their requirement of paperless management. GHealth has been running successfully in Ruby for the last 8 years and one of the most important features is the Customer Specific Billing Management. Ruby caters to different categories of patients and has about 40 different rate types associated with different Health Insurance companies and Government Organizations. The integration of these rate types in GHealth and successful implementation of Customer Specific Billing has helped Ruby bring down disallowances from the customers to a large extent. It has also helped in speeding up the claims processing.

The Pharmacy Management module has helped in establishing a proper Supply Chain of drugs within the hospital, thereby controlling pilferage.

The MIS reports generated from GHealth helps the hospital track the functioning of the various departments and take critical decisions to bring in changes to improve the revenues from the departments. The most recent addition to the Hospital was the Oncology Department and GHealth once again proved itself by providing an Oncology Module that seamlessly integrated within the existing application. All this has resulted in an increase in Patient footfalls over the years.
